What better way to show gratitude than to be content with what you have, rather than always striving for more?
In Philippians 4:11 Paul writes: “For I have learned to be content with whatever I have.”
Contentment is a spiritual matter. It comes from your relationship with God. You are not somebody because of what you have, and you are not deficient because of what you don’t have. You are a precious child of God, for whom Jesus gave his life. As Paul puts it, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Our final lesson in gratitude is contentment.
What are you grateful for?
The "Intentional Spiritual Practice of Gratitude" that accompanies this message is to KEEP A GRATITUDE LIST. For one week, severn consecutive days, write down at least three things you are grateful for.
Feel free to share anytime, if you want, in the "BIUMC Family and Friends" group on Facebook. It's the perfect place to continue our conversations or start new conversations when we are apart.
You can download a simple gratitude list temple above, if that's helpful to you.
