Quarreling has been part of the human condition from the very beginning and sadly, the church has known its share of strife and division.  Still today, God’s people find it difficult just to hang in there with one another.

The church in Corinth was no different. In his letter to the Corinthians, Paul appeals for unity, not in the name of kindness or civility, but in the name of Jesus Christ, who died for us, and was not divided for us. Unity and harmony are not easy . . . only necessary. For unity, Paul offered the Corinthians Christ . . . and Christ’s gifts of forgiveness and love.
