Some people at the church in Corinth criticized the apostle Paul for a message that sounded weak and simple-minded, even foolish. In his defense, Paul responds, “You may not like my message. You may even be offended by it. But all I’ve got to offer is the cross of Christ."
And seen the right way, the cross is the power of God and the wisdom of God. At the center of our life together is not power and success, but the cross of Christ. The cross is all we’ve got, and all we need.
Our theme verse for this “Offer Them Christ” worship series is from 1 Corinthians 2:2:
I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
