This series concludes with Jesus’ Parable about a Rich Man and a Poor Man. The rich man could only see the poor man as a potential servant, as less-than, as somehow different from himself. What did that cost the rich man? Well, in the story he winds up in a place of torment. In today's world, his attitude cost him a neighbor, a brother, a potential friend and partner.
How we see and think about other people really matters to them, but even more, it really matters to us. Jesus invites us to reach out, to connect with people, to find new neighbors and siblings everywhere.
