A man asked Jesus, “What must I do to inherit eternal life?” It turns out he already knew the answer. He just didn’t want to do it—not fully, not completely. The man wanted to make the answer more complicated. Jesus made the answer less complicated. If someone is broken or in need, Jesus says, serve them. It’s that simple.
