In this “Faith and Mental Health” series, we’re highlighting resources that faith has for mental health—hope and resilience, caring community, assurance that we are loved unconditionally.
Just as our bodies sometimes need a doctor’s care in addition to prayer, our minds and emotions sometimes need help from mental health professionals in addition to faith. So settle in—today we’re bringing the therapists to you.
Guest Speakers:
John Maxwell and Chelsea Meyer are both Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors in private practice. They both received their Master’s degrees from Ashland Seminary and have a clinical focus on working with individuals and groups who have experienced histories of past trauma. They see past unprocessed emotional pain as the root of many emotional and relational problems. John and Chelsea currently run three groups and have a fourth starting soon. They’ve been working with groups since May 2018, beginning with spirituality-focused groups, and remain passionate about bringing people together to heal in a supportive setting. They are both trained in a variety of holistic approaches that incorporate mind and body.
