Experience the Reverence of Maundy Thursday Tenebrae Service

Join us for a profound and moving Maundy Thursday Tenebrae service, where we will delve into the depths of Holy Week through the ancient tradition of shadows, or "Tenebrae."

"Tenebrae," derived from Latin, symbolizes the shadows that envelop the events of this solemn occasion. Through the dimming of lights and the extinguishing of candles, we will immerse ourselves in the betrayal, abandonment, and agony experienced during Holy Week.

As each scripture is read, followed by a haunting musical response, a candle will be extinguished, gradually enveloping us in darkness. This symbolic progression mirrors the increasing sorrow of the events leading to Christ's crucifixion.

Enhancing the atmosphere of reverence and reflection will be the heartfelt melodies of our re-formed contemporary choir, The Agape Singers. Their music will resonate deeply with the somber yet hopeful tone of the service.

Additionally, we invite you to partake in communion, a sacred act of remembrance and unity within the Christian tradition.

Come and experience the power of Maundy Thursday Tenebrae as we journey through the shadows of Holy Week, seeking solace, understanding, and spiritual renewal.

All are welcome to attend this solemn and transformative service.
