The Ministry of Community Connections Director will deepen Bethel’s relationships with community partners, foster outreach ministries, and pursue grants to support our mission. This role is focused on building trust and connection with our diverse neighbors in northwest Columbus, with a strong emphasis on immigrant and multicultural engagement.

Community Engagement & Partnerships
  • Deepen existing relationships with community partners and develop new ones.
  • Represent Bethel at community events, coalition meetings, and partnership gatherings.
  • Identify collaboration opportunities with schools, nonprofits, and local organizations.
Immigrant & Multicultural Ministries
  • Recruit and train church members to grow our capacity for immigrant and multicultural ministries.
  • Work with ministry teams to ensure outreach is culturally relevant and welcoming.
Congregational Connection
  • Build relationships within the congregation to connect people to outreach opportunities.
  • Share stories and updates that inspire participation in community engagement.
Grant Writing & Resource Development
  • Research, write, and submit grant applications aligned with Bethel’s mission.
  • Manage grant reporting requirements and maintain funding relationships.
Qualifications
  • Commitment to the mission and vision of an inclusive, multicultural church.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Cultural competency and, ideally, proficiency in a second language.
  • Experience in community engagement, nonprofit partnerships, or outreach ministry.
  • Grant writing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time well, and adapt to changing needs.
Additional Considerations
  • This is a part-time position requiring some flexibility for evenings and weekends.
