BIUMC In-person Worship and Building Use Guidelines:

BIUMC supports current CDC COVID-19 guidelines which state that fully vaccinated persons are not required to wear masks indoors or outdoors, unless in crowded settings. In crowded settings or with vulnerable populations, masking is recommended, even for fully vaccinated persons. CDC guidelines state that unvaccinated persons should continue to wear masks and maintain social distancing. The CDC recommends that young children and adults around them in child care, school, after school and other program settings continue to wear masks.

Guidelines:

  • Beginning June 13, 2021, BIUMC will offer two seating sections for 10 AM worship in the FLC. One section will be provided for fully vaccinated persons who choose not to wear masks and not sit in a socially distanced manner. The other seating section will be provided for persons who, for any reason, choose to wear a mask and sit in a socially distanced manner.
  • As a courtesy to others, all worshippers will be asked to wear a mask as they enter and leave worship.
  • All young children and adults serving in Children’s Ministry will be required to wear a mask.
  • All worshippers will be asked to follow these guidelines.

With the understanding that CDC, state and local guidelines may change, the BIUMC Leadership Board gives authority to the senior pastor and staff to modify worship guidelines related to COVID-19 as circumstances warrant, keeping health and safety as a priority.  When questions, concerns or special situations arise, the senior pastor will consult with Leadership Board for input and direction.
