United Methodist Women

Our November Gathering will be Saturday, November 4th at 9:00 AM in rooms 9 & 10.  A light breakfast will be served followed by a brief business meeting, including election of our 2018 officers and our program, The Sacred Space of Sharing Food: World Thank Offering 2017. The objective for our program, led by Susan Place, is to develop a deeper understanding of the significance of food and fellowship in scripture and to create a sacred space of sharing food and thanksgiving. Please remember to bring your World Thank Offering boxes. Our Mission Focus is NNEMAP; bring a non-perishable food item, feminine hygiene product, or dollars for this important mission.  Every dollar you donate allows NNEMAP to purchase enough food for 10 meals through the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.

Craft Marketplace will be held on Saturday,November 10th.  Volunteers are needed to help in the kitchen, with the lunch cafe, and as runners/spotters in the vendor areas.   Someone is needed to make egg salad (3 dozen eggs). Please let me now if you can help in one of these capacities or sign up at the Gathering on Saturday.

Winterfair Coat Check is just around the corner.  Please consider helping with this Mission Fundraiser.  The dates are December 1, 2, and 3.  A sign-up sheet will be available on Saturday as well as on the next several Sundays.  Shifts are approximately 3.5 hours; admission to the Winterfair is free.  This is an excellent opportunity to assist with a fundraiser and also to do Christmas shopping.  Due to recent health problems experienced by the St Marks coordinator and low UMW unit membership, they will not be participating this year.  Therefore, additional volunteers are needed.  Our Board has voted not to continue this fundraiser in future years.  Questions - contact Shirley Funt at or 614-284-9019.

Mark your calendars for our Annual Christmas Tea to be held on Saturday, December 9th.  This year's theme is The Christmas Tree.  More details will be forthcoming.

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
