Pastor Mike Pratt

Bethel Pastor

Staff PhotosPastor Mike came to Bethel as Senior Pastor in September 2009. For the previous ten years he had been the Lead Pastor at Lewisburg UMC in Preble County near Dayton. During his stay there two older congregations united and a new church was built just outside of town on Route 40.

Pastor Mike’s “first life” was in juvenile justice where for many years he was the Chief Probation Officer for the Montgomery County Juvenile Court. During that time a community-funded work therapy program called Building Bridges and a prized George Foster Group Home put them on the map as one the top ten juvenile probation departments in the country.

Pastor Mike has been a part of the adjunct faculty departments at Xavier University, the University of Dayton, and Wilmington College. His call to serve Christ began with his grandmother at seven years old, and although it took him awhile to ultimately find his way to the parish, the children of the streets were his parish for almost 30 years. He has a passion for mission, evangelism, and multicultural ministry. He has led an ecumenical mission team to a remote area in northern Belize, Central America for the past ten years.

His wife, Diane, has been his lifelong companion in glorifying God and he is aglow to have his two sons and daughters-in-law (Andy & Megan, Joe & Alyssa) worship and serve with him and Diane here at Bethel.  He and Diane are the grandparents to Logan, Emma, Owen, Ella and Olivia.  Logan already sings in the Joyful Noise Children's Choir, which Diane leads along with Cari Geyer.
