John Henderson

Young Adult Ministry Director

John HendersonJohn joined Bethel International in May 2017 as the church’s first-ever Young Adults Ministry Director. John oversees the church’s young adults ministry along with welcoming and small group ministries.  

John graduated from Methodist Theological School in Ohio in May 2016 with a Master of Divinity degree and specialization in Ecology and Justice. While in seminary, John served on the pastoral staff at Hillard UMC and at King Avenue UMC as student pastor of young adult connections. After graduation, John served as Pastor at James S. Thomas UMC, a multi-racial congregation in Canton, Ohio. John holds a B.A. in public relations with a minor in sociology from Otterbein University and has experience in marketing, PR and social media management.

John says that his call to ministry is fueled by a desire to create spaces for young people to grow deeper in relationship with God, others and the world. He has a passion for global missions and multicultural ministry that is shaped by his cross-cultural experiences in Cambodia, India and urban area of the United States. John is committed to building ministries that reflect God’s grace and celebrate the diversity of creation. He firmly believes that we are better together.

John’s wife Victoria serves as Pastoral Care Coordinator at Peace United Methodist Church in Pickerington, Ohio. The two met as students at Otterbein University and attended seminary together at Methodist Theological School in Ohio. They have a dog named Piper and enjoy the outdoors, good food and exploring Columbus – the greatest city in the Midwest.
